Exenatide Suspension
The exenatide suspension formulation uses a proprietary technology for long-acting medications developed by Alkermes, Inc. to leverage the potency of exenatide. The technology encapsulates active medication into polymer-based microspheres that are injected into the body where they degrade slowly, gradually releasing the drug in a carefully controlled manner to provide continuous therapeutic exenatide levels. This formulation, may enable once-monthly or once-weekly administration of exenatide without the need for reconstitution.
